BREAST AUGMENTATION (Breast enlargement/Augmentation Mammoplasty)
It is procedure of breast enlargement by inserting an implant in the breasts. Types of implants: 1) Saline filled implant 2) Silicon-gel filled implant.
It is done to replace breast tissues that has been removed due to cancer or trauma or that has failed to developed properly also can be for cosmetic reason. The size or volume of the implant depend on personal expectation ,chest size, existing breast tissues & skin covering the breast.
The implant(silicon bag) is placed through an small incision under the breast, the scars of the surgery are well hidden by making an incision around the breast or in the armpit,after insertion of silicon bag next step is filling the bag with saline ( salt water ). This prosthesis expands the breast area to give a fuller breast & better contour.
The surgery is done as a day care procedure, after surgery feeling of stretch, swelling & slight bruising can be expected. Most patients are able to do daily activities on next day & return to office work in 2-3 days. Upper body exercises & fondling of breast is avoided for a month.
Complication: Infection in breast implant, implant mal position, collection of blood etc.
LIPOSUCTION
Liposuction is the removal of excess body fat by suction. It is useful for contouring under the chin, neck, cheeks, upper arms, breast, abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs, knees,calves & ankle areas It is done for cosmetic reason & body shaping for people who are bothered by fatty bulges.
Different liposuction procedures:
1) Tumescent liposuction (fluid injection).
2) Super Wet technique.
3) Ultrasound-assisted liposuction.Liposuction machine & special instruments are used for this surgery.
After the surgery, bandages are applied to keep pressure on the area & usually kept in place for at least 2 weeks. patient may return to work within few days of surgery. Liposuction may or may not require a hospital stay, depending on the location & extent of surgery.
It can be done in an office-based facility, in a surgery center on an outpatient basis. Patient may need to stay in hospital if larger volume of fat is being removed.

It is done in obese people for cosmetic purpose. Pre operative markings are done on the patient abdomen in standing position. The scar is designed such a way that they hardly seen afterwards.
RHINOPLASTY
It is correction of nose defect to give the proper shape. It can be done in congenital defect, accidental damages.
